was gunned down
by a NATO hired hand

fifty-six years ago
this year
Che Guevara
was executed
by the Bolivian army
hand in hand
with the CIA

neither of these warriors
ever stood by –
they both left burning
within us
the ancestral embers
of the long lasting victories
they lit

in fifty years
in fifty six years
our children will say
October 7th
this year
sparked the days that
shook the world –
the streets
rekindled
with Che Guevara’s
and Amílcar Cabral’s
flame
are not standing by :
whether in
Amman
Nabatieh
Johannesburg
Cairo
Tunis
Algiers
Paris
London
Berlin
New York
Seattle
D.C. ,
the mercantile
divided and dividing
Apartheid driven
elites
will be ruled
by the rising resistance
of the world’s peoples for Palestine
everywhere
crossing the boundaries
of their caged
warehoused
mass incarcerated
streets
