Workers now organizing unions in over 100 Starbucks stores

Blatant, racist acts of union-busting by Starbucks have only poured fuel on the fire of worker organizing. Seven Starbucks workers were fired Feb. 8 in Memphis, Tennessee, including the entire union Organizing Committee for the store, comprised of mostly Black and Brown workers.

Now, the total number of stores organizing unions has doubled since the start of February and topped 100 as of Feb. 18, when Cleveland hit the milestone with two new stores. More Perfect Union reported that workers in stores across 26 states have announced they are filing for union elections. Protests were held Feb. 15 in solidarity with the Memphis 7.
