Delegation will support Chokwe Lumumba’s mayoral inauguration

The Baltimore People’s Power Assembly is organizing a national delegation to attend the July 1 mayoral inauguration of Chokwe Lumumba in Jackson, Miss.  The Jackson People’s Assembly, which Lumumba helped found along with the Malcolm X Grassroots Movement, was instrumental in him winning 87 percent of the vote. The JPA calls for the direct participation of the Jackson population, which is 80 percent African American and over 36 percent impoverished, in making economic and political decisions affecting their daily lives.

The national delegation will include activists from Baltimore, New York, Atlanta and elsewhere. Donations are needed for travel, housing and food.  Go to the People’s Power Assemblies website at peoplespowerassemblies.org/lumumbainaugurationdelegation/ to make donations.  For more information on the JPA, go to mxgm.org.
