New WW youth blog takes inspiration from Black Panther Party

The youth of Workers World Party have gone live with a new collaborative blog entitled “Can’t Jail the Revolution.” The blog’s name takes inspiration from Black Panther Party leader Huey P. Newton’s quote, “You can jail the revolutionary, but you can’t jail the revolution.” The site will feature a wide variety of original content produced by and for young revolutionaries, from political analysis and Marxist study guides to poetry, visual arts, personal anecdotes and videos.

“What so exciting to me about this project is that it’s all been up to us youth,” said Workers World Party member and blog editor Eva Panjwani. “From the earliest planning phases, to website design and of course actually writing the content, it’s all youth created, and I think that, plus its revolutionary political content, makes our blog unique.”

The aim of the website is to reach a wider audience of youth — to amplify national struggles youth are facing, inspire debate and be a resource for young people interested in socialism. “There are so many blogs out there that offer really good analysis on current events, but relatively few which offer a coherent, time-tested political program as a solution,” blog contributor Andy Koch told WW. “Can’t Jail the Revolution has more than a dozen different contributors, and we are all in the struggle as part of a Marxist-Leninist party, the type of organization that has scored the biggest victories against imperialism worldwide. We interpret events on our blog, but we are also clear that socialism is the solution.”

The blog can be found at cantjailtherevolution.org
