Unity in struggle

Minneapolis — Leslie Feinberg, center, with activists who drove from Anoka, Minn., on Sept. 13 to demonstrate their ongoing solidarity with CeCe McDonald, to show support for Feinberg in the courtroom that morning and to confront state repression against Minneapolis activists at this lunchtime City Hall protest. The Anoka activists work to defend LGBTQ/+ youths in struggle in their community.

A Feb. 2 rollingstone.com article, “One Town’s War on Gay Teens,” summarized that local struggle: “In Michele Bachmann’s home district, evangelicals have created an extreme anti-gay climate. After a rash of suicides, the kids are fighting back.”
