San Diego students hear report on Gaza
Published Sep 23, 2009 6:02 PM
At a Sept. 16 well-attended meeting at San Diego State University
co-facilitated by Lorain Rihan and Shelley Burke of the SDSU Students for
Justice in Palestine, Viva Palestina participant and International Action
Center West Coast Coordinator John Parker was the featured speaker. He
described the experiences of the international delegation of 200 activists who,
two months ago, successfully challenged the U.S.-supported, Israeli/Egyptian
blockade of Gaza and delivered much-needed humanitarian aid to the beleaguered
but defiant Palestinian residents. Gloria Verdieu of the San Diego IAC
introduced dramatic video footage shot by Parker during the trip. Shown with
Parker (center) are Powell Digangi (left) and Kevin Iranihn (right), both of
whom were also members of the Viva Palestina delegation and also spoke at the
meeting.
